Have
you been in a fashion rut lately? Don't feel like spending
hundreds of dollars for a new wardrobe? Trust me, I know
exactly how you feel.
The
easiest (and most cost-effective) way of injecting some
fresh style into your existing wardrobe is through some
funky and colorful fashion accessories. But to make your
dollar stretch even farther, choose accessories that are
timeless and will carry you through season after season.
Here's a few of our tips that will help you to narrow
down the limitless choices available to you...
|
If your wardrobe consists
mostly of prints:
|
Find
a bag that has a bright, solid color such as orange, red,
or turquoise blue. Yellow accessories are currently all
the rage as evidenced by reading any fashion mag lately.
These bright colors will definitely liven up your outfit.
Try not to mix prints with prints. It doesn't produce
the most "pulled-together" look, as it can tend
to look like you dressed yourself in the dark. Unless,
of course, that's the look you were going for. Then I
say, "knock yourself out, girl!"
Stick
with colors that have staying power and you won't regret
spending your hard-earned money. And if you're a little
shy about wearing bright colors, you can never go wrong
with trusty old black and white!
|
If your wardrobe consists mostly of solid colors:
|
This is where boredom ends and the fun begins! You will
get the most mileage out of your wardrobe if you stick
with timeless pieces such as a crisp, white shirt, khaki
trousers, and tailored blazers.
Buy pieces that you can mix around with other pieces to
create new outfits. And always make sure that the fit
is perfect for your body. If something needs to be tailored,
keep that in mind before you buy the piece.

"Retro Wave"
Baby Bag |
Then, inject something unexpected into
your ensemble with a colorful, funky-patterned bag, but
try to keep the lines clean. Our "Retro
Wave" Tote is a great example of a colorful
and funky bag, but it still has clean lines which makes
it timeless.
Your choices are virtually limitless, so make sure you
buy something you love and will get a lot of use of, but
most importantly, something you can afford. It doesn't
make much sense to buy the newest and trendiest (read:
most expensive) bag if you can't make this month's rent!

Some other useful tips to follow:
|
Try not to buy bags
that:
|
| 1. |
Have
too much bling on them.
They'll be out of style in no time, not to mention your
back and shoulders are
gonna hurt from the extra weight;
|
| 2. |
Too
many exterior pockets.
The bag just looks sloppy and overdone, and can begin to
look juvenile;
|
| 3. |
Any
bags that have logos plastered all over them.
You're basically providing free advertising for that company.
Aw, isn't that
nice of you!
|
If
you stick to these tips, the focus will be on your entire
outfit, and not just your bag. You spent precious time
putting together your fabulous look, and you should be
noticed for it!
Either
way you go, just remember that fashion is supposed to
be fun and not taken too seriously. But, if there's way
too much fun involved in your outfit, you're probably
going to look more like a circus clown instead of the
fabulous Lil' Diva you really are!
